I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, it's been pretty hard to keep up lately as first my daughter, then my son, then me, and now my husband have had a horrid bug. But here is the drawing I should have done yesterday.

This one is a ram. It's actually the day before yesterday's drawing which I didn't do!

I'm not very happy with it but my husband says "Share it and explain". Here goes; my daughter has been sick since the early hours of Saturday morning but me son has only been sick since the early hours of Tuesday morning, I think? I've lost track of how many hours sleep over lost or which meals I've missed! :) But even so I want to keep drawing, having come so far, I want to finish my year!

Today's is a jellyfish. We took the kids to London Aquarium yesterday. The sea life was beautiful.

Today's is Singapore very early in the morning. I was only here 24 hours and I had my daughter in the pushchair, I would like to go back.

At this time in the morning all the shopkeepers are out cleaning the street in front of their shop, and I don't just mean giving it a sweep, they wash it with buckets of soapy water and scrub it until it's cleaner than some peoples kitchens! And you can't buy chewing gum because that would mess it up again!

Myself

Today's is myself. Last time I drew myself my husband said "Yeah, I knew her ten years ago." (I normally like that he's honest with me, but on this occasion, not feeling it!) I have tried to be more honest with myself (and you) about the shadows time has left around my eyes etc.

Today's is Ben Lomond. Ben means "mountain" and Lomond probably comes from "laom" meaning blaze or beacon. Presumably a beacon was once lit on "mountain beacon" and I guess the loch was named after the mountain. Loch means lake.

I was born here here which is why I refer to it as home, it's also the clan lands of my ancestors.

Today's is a girl on a horse with a crumbled city on the horizon.

I'm a fan of civilisation, someone else does the farming and I get to draw. I don't think there will be much call for interior fabric design in the even of a zombie apocalypse! However I can ride horses as well as drive cars.

Today's is Liverpool, viewed from across the water in the Wirral.

I lived here for four years and got to love the loyal, humourous people and beautiful tough city.

It's the poorest city in the UK and has the most grade one listed buildings. It's a place of contrasts.

If you go hang out on the bluecoat gallery, stay all day in the café, garden, gallery and art shop, stay all day and then catch a live gig in the evening. Mention me to the light and sound guys, they might sneak you in the back!

The colour is very subtle and has not photographed well in artificial light.

This style was much criticised in its day for being "pretty" but I'm a fabric designer, I already sold out long ago by those standards, I like a bit of pretty in my life, not all art has to be political.

Be like Picasso and do everything from political protest paintings to affordable fabrics!

Parenting can be mindbogglingly hard. Kids can be trying and it's an unsafe and unsatisfactory world we have to let them out into.

Here is to all the parents trying to do a good job. Be as kind as you can to as many people as you can find it in you to love but pick your true friends very carefully.

Today's is a woman in a big hat. She may have had to deal with pirates on the crossing from France, or perhaps she fled the revolution.

Today's is Roger Ellory playing guitar, let's hope he forgives me! I'm not a portrait artist so when I draw people I don't do that gloss on thing, they tend to look and go "Oh, I didn't realise that top was so tight on me" or much worse. I'm hoping an artist can look past that.

Gig tonight with some seriously heavy hitting artistic talent! Martin Smith (Formerly of ELO now makes music for Universal) and Roger Ellory (yes the bestselling author) in the band; The Whiskey Poets, with Roger Nunn. (I don't know the bace player personally.)

Today's was a disaster, the baby wined the whole time and I tried to hurry. This led to me doing two awful drawings and this is the third.

It's a speug (Scottish for sparrow) which it probably isn't ether. I don't know my birds! Please feel free to tell me what it is.
