I'm creating a drawing a day, just for the art of it, and sharing an art tip too.
Today's drawing is a page of rabbits, and a little pencil test in the corner.
Today's tip: Things are not really made of lines, they are areas of colour, and light and shade. Try out a little light and shade, pencils have a range, shown in the corner of the picture, get some nice soft ones (2B, 3B... the Bs are soft) and take some part of the drawing as dark as you can.

Dylan sleeping (the day before yesterday's drawing)
I'm creating a drawing a day, just for the art of it.
Today's (the day before yesterday's) is my son sleeping in a coat in the pushchair.
Art tip Many people feel that work follows inspiration, so you feel inspired or in the mood, then you do artwork. This is somewhat true but if you only follow this rule you will not be prolific, in fact it is doubtful you will even get enough practice to be good. Inspiration also follows work. My successful author friend put it like this "bum on seat, hands on keyboard." That works for me too, I start working (even though I'd far rather not), I get inspiration and sometimes I do some of my very best work. Yesterday I did a drawing for my textile design that I described to my brother as "hitting it out of the park" I badly wanted to sit and watch "Big Bang Theory" when I made myself start it!

Masked lady, with and without reference material.
I'm creating a drawing a day, just for the art of it.
Today's is a masked lady done without reference material, and one with.
Good observation is the backbone of good drawing. You should spend more time looking at the thing you are drawing than you do looking at the paper you are drawing on - much more.
If you can't draw the thing it's self, take a photo, if you can't take a photo, get a copyright free photo, or different photos of different parts of it... I hope you find to comparison interesting.
