I want to visit this street, somewhere in Spain!

I'm creating a drawing a day, for two years, just for the art of it, and sharing an art tip too.

Today's drawing is a street in Spain - I got very interested in drawing this!
Today's tip: Work out what is important, you don't have to use every colour, you don't have to draw every window, what HELPS it look better or say more?

Boat on a grey sea

I'm creating a drawing a day, just for the art of it, and sharing an art tip too.

Today's drawing is a boat on a grey sea. I use only tone, if you have trouble with colour, you can do this to cut back the problem, but if you come back to colour, here is a tip to help.

Today's tip: This is the colour wheel, (picture underneath) the colour is arranged in the order of the rainbow or natural spectrum. Colours next to each other go together restfully, colours at opposite sides make each other look brighter and are called complimentary colours.

Venice and me wen I was there!

I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.
Today's is Venice, a city mostly built with income from silk made in China.

Just for fun, here is a picture of me when I was here.

Jasmine and Dylan

I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.
Today's is my children snuggled up together.

It's coloured pencils on brown paper. Caran d' ache watersoluable pencils and Derwent Inktense but I have decided to leave them as pencil lines and not take a brush and wash the colour around. Included an earlier version too.

Water lilies and gold fish.

I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.

Today's is water lilies and goldfish.

No need to get too hung up on "the colours things are" look closely and they are often not the colours we traditionally associate with them. Look out for a brown tree trunk and you soon realise that they are usually grey, green black or silver in various combinations.

Here are water lilies that are not green, water that is not blue and goldfish that are not orange (I admit that one is artistic licence as they sure are orange!) I hope you like it.
