View over a field at the village of Cowden

I'm creating a drawing a day, just for the art of it, and sharing an art tip too.

Today's drawing is the view over a field at Cowden Village, Kent, UK.

Today's tip: Materials and what they are, or are good for.
Wax crayons, these will keep watercolours off something, so you can work in wax crayons then watercolours and the wax crayons remain visible.
Hairspray, much cheaper than fancy fixative for fixing on pastel and charcoal, also works better.

Woodland (yesterday's drawing)

I'm creating a drawing a day, just for the art of it, and sharing an art tip too.

Today's (yesterday's) drawing is woodland fenced off.

Today's art tip: Don't bother too much with self criticism, I find life supplies plenty of people willing to critacise you, and you can safely leave it to them!

I'm creating a drawing a day, for a year, just for the art of it. Today is day 343 and I was up since 6:00 and completely uninspired and without motivation.
I appealed for ideas from my friends and was blown away by the amount of response and the fun, imaginative ideas! So much communication was in itself inspiring. Thank you. I feel like I have good ideas far into the future.
Also thank you Ryan for posting your photos for me to work from. They are all stunning.

Thank you all my friends, all your ideas are stunning.

Mixed media: watercolour paint, inktense pencils, inktense blocks, black pen, white pen, acrylic paint, practice!

Landscape from imagination

I'm creating a drawing a day, just for the art of it.

Today's is a landscape from imagination. For some reason all landscapes I do from imagination end up being Scotland!

River landscape with directional pencil lines.

I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.

Today's is a landscape where I have been careful to keep the pencil lines all going one way and then broken my rule on top.

Woodland

I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, so that I do something worthwhile, other than parenting each day.

Today's is woodland.
