Mixed media daffodils

I'm creating a drawing a day, just for the art of it. I could say something about daffodils but why would I? When it's been said by Wordsworth.

Wordsworth
I wandered lonely as a Cloud
I wandered lonely as a Cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and Hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden Daffodils;
Beside the Lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:-
A Poet could not but be gay
In such a jocund company:
I gazed---and gazed---but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude,
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the Daffodils.

I'm creating a drawing a day, for a year, just for the art of it. Today is day 343 and I was up since 6:00 and completely uninspired and without motivation.
I appealed for ideas from my friends and was blown away by the amount of response and the fun, imaginative ideas! So much communication was in itself inspiring. Thank you. I feel like I have good ideas far into the future.
Also thank you Ryan for posting your photos for me to work from. They are all stunning.

Thank you all my friends, all your ideas are stunning.

Mixed media: watercolour paint, inktense pencils, inktense blocks, black pen, white pen, acrylic paint, practice!

Château hopping in the Loire valley.

I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.

Today's is the Château Allure du Lac.

I'm not actually staying at this château, I'm on a flat in the manor in the grounds.

Briar Rose's Castle

I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.

Today's is the chateau we are staying at, in the Loire Valley. I love it from the back garden like this as it looks like Briar Rose's castle. Today it's 31 degrees, so sleeping for a hundred years seems like a possibility! :)

Mermaid

I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.

Today's is a mermaid. Continuing yesterday's fantasy art theme.

She's a little inspired by a whale shark.

Waterfall, ok I confess, I'm a little obsessed with waterfalls

I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.

Today's is a waterfall. I have done several waterfalls, but like the raw power, the eternalness, more and more and more water wearing away stone. It reassures me that the natural world is still a force to be reckoned with, we still have abundance, we simply need integrity and organisation to have a healthy world.

Nile Felucca

I'm creating a drawing a day for the art of it.

Nile felucca
These graceful little boats with their asymmetrical sails litter the Nile's banks, competing for space with house boats and hotel balconies.
I took one from Luxor to Banana island, it seemed like easy sailing over very smooth water but the men who sail these boats must know the strange currents in such a big, shifting river.
They make you tea on board, with a tiny gas stove, in a shot glass and medicinally sweet!
Out on the more than a mile wide river it's cool, the only cool outdoor place I experienced in Egypt. When you get to Banana island it's hot again. But as the island is thickly forested with banana trees, it's a shadowy hot unknown on the banks of the Nile, which are cultivated or bare but not thick with trees usually.
You get tiny bananas to eat, a hand span long and sweet, really sweet!
Egypt is a treasure, I loved it, and despite any Egyptology you may have studied, I challenge you to stand under the columns of the template at Karnak and not believe aliens helped build it!

Edinburgh from the crags.

It's not true what they say "that the best thing to come out of Edinburgh is the last train to Glasgow!" Edinburgh is wonderful! It's just Glasgow is even more so! :)

I may have gotten a little carried away with the mixed media:
Pen, watercolour, watersoluable pencils, inktense pencils, inktense pastels and tipex!!!

This one is dedicated to my niece Katie, happy birthday!
