I'm creating a drawing a day, just for the art of it, and sharing an art tip too.
Today's drawing is a_________.
Today's tip: You don't have to interpret your work for people. They can make up their own minds. If it needs a label to make any sense at all, you failed to communicate anything with the actual artwork. I realise that I just threw the whole school of conceptual art out with that comment, I don't care, you can tell them where I live, I'm ready!
(In conceptual art the concept is so much more important than the art that the art can even be made by some else and often is, most of it cannot be understood at all without the labels. Most of the Turner Prize stuff is conceptual art.).

Flower on blue and why draw?
I'm creating a drawing a day, and the #drawingadayclub to share some beauty and tolerance, to intersperse the mundane and frightening content that makes up so much of our social media.
I'm creating a drawing a day to inspire other artists to return to art, share more art, or just work for pleasure in secret because I reminded them they love it - whatever their art form.
I'm creating a drawing a day, to grow as myself and set a good example to my children of creativity, purpose and persistence.
I'm creating a drawing a day to bring diverse people together over their love of art, people who never would have connected, who comment, join in, and in turn help one another.
I'm creating a drawing a day because people message me to say it helps them.

Tulip and art tip
I'm creating a drawing a day, just for the art of it, and sharing an art tip too.
Today's drawing is a tulip.
Today's art tip: Don't be afraid to wreck it! You can always do another, or photograph it or scan it then be brave. This drawing was a bit dull so right at the end I just decided "Let's wreck it and see!" Now I like it. See the dull version below.

Poinsettia pattern
I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.
Today's is a pattern of printed poinsettias. I'm a textile designer, I'm allowed to do that sometimes, if you are interested you can find out about that here: http://enchantedtextiledesign.blogspot.co.uk

Rose, a present from my daughter!
I'm creating a drawing a day for the art of it.
Today's is a rose my daughter gave me, she's eight, sometimes I think children have trouble getting presents for their parents, they seldom have any money not given them by their parents and they are still trying to work out the adult world (good luck with that one!) But my daughter really aced it when she brought me a rose "For my drawing."

Printed roses
I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.
Today's are roses. I have made a foam sheet printing "block" and printed two roses then worked into one of them. It's all done with Derwent Inktense ink blocks and inktense solid ink pencils.

Hibiscus flower
I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.
Today's is a hibiscus flower.
These grow so profusely in Malaysia, they remind me of looking at the stars from the south China sea and suddenly realising I couldn't pick out a single constellation, then I knew I had wandered far!

Butterfly on a flower.
I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.
Today's is a butterfly on a flower. I was enjoying playing with it so much I may have overworked it a bit.

Negative lilies
I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.
Today's are lilies crested by filling in the negative space. I like the team "negative space" it simply means the space around the object, the spaces between the subjects but it sounds darker!
I have no idea why I chose to do only the negative space, so let me know if you work it out! :)

Rose, peach.
I'm creating a drawing a day for a year, just for the art of it.
Today's is a rose.
I realise I wouldn't draw on many days if I hadn't said I would. Days it's too late, days I feel sick, days that I'm away... Without the dicapline of EVERY day, I expect I would draw once a month.
